One of those weeks

Well, it has been one of those weeks - you know - it started off wrong and has gone downhill ever since.  With Ken's wedding approaching faster than I anticipated, I finally got out and found a "mother of the groom dress" to wear.  I am a hard fit and was amazed to find the perfect dress at a reasonable price (if you can call any price on women's clothing "reasonable"!) and it would not even have to be altered.  That is amazing for me as that never happens.  I was so thrilled I went and got shoes to match the same day - and that is an accomplishment as well with my wide feet!  I even found fancy silver ones - wow!

So that was Saturday - now here's the how the week started off wrong.  I had this "gut" feeling about the dress.  When I went to the store I had called the mother of the bride to see what color she bought so we wouldn't clash.  She told me she bought black and then proceeded to tell me about the store - amazingly enough I was almost there and it was the same store.  While at the store there was an electrical failure as a transformer blew.  They were able to serve us, but it was hot in there and trying on dresses was no fun.  As I was signing for the dress order, it occurred to me to ask if they could check and see what the mother of the bride has bought, but they said no because she took it home with her.  That bothered me all night and Sunday after church I called her.  You know where I am going with this one - yes, she bought the same Ursula of Sweden dress!!!!  I can't believe it!  So, Monday morning I canceled the order, but I am still in shock - and not looking forward to looking for another dress.

So, that's my tale of whoa ... along with a bad cold/sinus infection that has lingered on for more than 5 weeks now and my stiff knees which are getting better, but still ache, and a myriad of other things that fit into Murphy's law at work, it is one of those weeks...
Hopefully tomorrow will be better - say a prayer for me .... I am taking a bus-load of cooking students on a field trip to Bob Chinns and Morkes Chocolates!  Hold on to your seats!  Maybe a good story will come of it to blog about!
